The challenge

Policy documents are long and detailed, and customers and staff need clear answers about what a policy includes.

What we built

An AI-Powered Insurance Policy Document Assistant: a generative AI assistant that answers questions directly from policy documents, so answers come from the real policy wording rather than guesswork.

How it works

Policy documents are embedded and stored in a vector database. When someone asks a question, the most relevant passages are retrieved and a large language model, orchestrated with LangChain, writes an answer from that wording. The assistant is served through a FastAPI service.
